The force transducers of the Press Force series are ideal for measuring both dynamic and semi-static forces. The pre-loading and adaptability of these practical designs at the factory ensure they are ready for immediate use. These press force load cells are based on the piezoelectric measurement principle. The force acting on the quartz element produces a proportional electrical charge at the sensor output; this charge is converted into a suitable process signal (typically 0 ... 10 V) for evaluation by a series-connected measuring amplifier. Depending on the sensor type, tensile forces up to 16% of the compression force range can also be measured. Although uncalibrated, these ranges are often used, for example, to detect tool retraction forces after pressing operations. They come in five different sizes, which are divided into seven different measurement ranges.
